Autonomous January and the Unemployed Worker's Movement of Solano (MTD Solano) of Argentina:

Meetings called by the Buddhist Peace Fellowship and the Trades Hall Basement Dojo of Melbourne, Australia, with Augusto Alcalde, of the MTD Solano, from Argentina

Augusto is a zen teacher and healer in the Chinese tradition, a writer, poet and counter-information social activist, coordinates the "El Topo Net of Rebel Solidarities" and has been coming to Australia regularly for eleven years. He cooperates with and supports several diffuse networks for social change, as the ones of the struggle of aboriginal people of Argentina and Latin America and the (MTD) Unemployed Workers Movement" of Solano in Argentina.

From Authonomous January meeting in Argentina:
"After ten months of meetings and sharing of a thinking space, we have been able to collectively create a fertile territory to build new ways of existence and political practices based in horizontalism and autonomy. Our circle is a conjunction of different ways of exploring and different experiences in the anticapitalist struggle: neighborhood assemblies, unemployed workers movements, squatted spaces, counter-information collectives, amongst others. Together we learn and together we unlearn. We debate about the different obstacles and ways of subordination that we are confronted with by the State and the market. We also debate about ways of collective organizing that create egalitarian, solidarity and free relationships. Our round tries to produce here and now the world that we desire. During each day, in different spaces of the meeting, we will share experiences & stories."

Over our two next meetings with Augusto, we will be specifically sharing the experience of the struggle for work, social change
and dignity and the building of autonomy in the free territories of the Unemployed Workers Movement of Solarno, Argentina.
We will also have an update on the Zapatista movement and their 10th anniversary celebration, and ten years since challenging NAFTA.
